MapYourGym

Overview

MapYourGym is a subscription product sold to gyms that helps members navigate the gym floor, learn how to use equipment safely and complete guided inductions without needing a staff walkthrough. The mobile app gives gymgoers an interactive map of their gym with tappable equipment, instructional videos and self-paced workout routes, while a separate desktop admin platform allows the MapYourGym team to build floor plans, manage equipment libraries, upload videos and generate QR codes for each gym location.

The problem

Gyms lose new members in the first few weeks when they feel intimidated by unfamiliar equipment, and staff are constantly pulled into one-to-one inductions that don't scale. The client needed a product that worked across two very different audiences: gymgoers who wanted an instant, login-free way to find and learn equipment on their phone, and an internal admin team that needed a powerful desktop tool to build custom floor plans, manage video libraries and roll out QR-code inductions across multiple gym locations.

Our solution

We designed and built the full MapYourGym ecosystem in Bubble, with Figma used for the end-to-end product design. The member-facing mobile app delivers an interactive 2D floor plan with tappable equipment, embedded video demos, guided induction routes accessed via QR code, and a personal notes space, all without requiring a login. Alongside it, we built a desktop admin platform that lets the MapYourGym team upload floor plans, place equipment hotspots, manage the video library, generate QR codes and support multi-location gym brands from a single dashboard.

The results

The result is a single platform that gives gyms a scalable way to onboard new members, reduces the load on front-of-house staff and gives prospective members a confident first look at the space before they sign up. With self-service access via QR code, multi-location support and built-in monetisation through promoted personal trainer placements, MapYourGym is positioned to grow from a single-gym product into a subscription tool rolled out across chains.
